About the Event

About the session:

As we move into new ways of working, with flexible hours and the lines of work and home blurred more than ever before; it’s easy to try to juggle responsibilities inefficiently, enjoying neither work nor time alone or with our families.

Could we manage distractions, keep boundaries, and produce results so that we have work satisfaction, quality of life, and progress? Learning to single-task, in the larger sense, allows us to live more fully in the moment, giving 100% to what is in front of us, be it the writing we are doing, the design we are developing, or the person we are talking to, thereby producing better results be it in our jobs or our relationships.  Let us look to filtering out irrelevancy, heightening our focus levels, and maximizing time well spent.

Mala Hemnani, the Co-Founder of Markss Impressions, an image and soft skills consultancy wants to wean you off that obsession for distractions, and single-task. Mala will show us how single-tasking will help us communicate better, reduce anxiety and increase creativity.

About the speaker:

Having lived in the Middle East, West Africa, and Europe, Mala Hemnani moved to India 12 years ago where she started a fashion business. Her passion, however, has always been in coaching of assertive skills and professional etiquette, and is the Co-Founder of Markss Impressions, an image and soft skills consultancy.

Vast exposure to different cultures and behaviours, have given Mala the experiences that have invoked the curiosity to explore trends where one can further display their innate creativity and potential. Single-tasking has organically and holistically become the ‘natural’ go-to skill, and after research, exploring and testing, Mala herself is convinced by the strength of this art.

Five key takeaways:

1. The shortcomings of multi-tasking and how it affects your productivity

2. Managing distractions and respecting boundaries

3. Getting into the flow and depth to improve your creativity

4. The importance of rewards and breaks

5. The advantages of single-tasking in our work life, personal life, and mental health
